Windham, ME - June, 2009 - Anyone who has spent time on the water understands the critical value of a good navigation system. About the eLGPS 1110
When the fog sets in, shoal water is close aboard, and the seas pick up, there is no time to question your positioning receiver. CrossRate's integrated GPS/eLoran receiver, the eLGPS 1110, provides the best positioning integrity and reliability on the market.

The eLGPS 1110 receiver delivers the most reliable positioning information on the market by integrating a state of the art GPS receiver with a world-class eLORAN receiver. The receiver provides a non-magnetic true heading even while stationary for chart plotters, radar overlay or autopilot. The eLGPS 1110 learns its environment and improves its accuracy the longer it runs.

By combining eLoran with GPS, CrossRate is taking advantage of two federally supported positioning systems. GPS, although accurate, has inherent limitations as a result of its high frequency (1.57 GHz), low power (500 watts) transmitters, located over 20,000 km above the Earth's surface. Alternatively, Loran is land based with a low operating frequency (100kHz) and typical transmitters approaching 1,000,000 watts. The lower frequency and higher power of Loran allows its signal to penetrate into many areas where GPS does not work. The patent pending I2E integration engine uses a Kalman filter to, in real time, integrate the GPS and eLoran position information as well as monitor the health of the systems providing enhanced reliability and accuracy if systems degrade.
